A survey by Tifa has revealed that at least 32 per cent of Kenyans believe Jeremiah Kioni is the legal secretary general of the Jubilee party.

In the poll released on Thursday, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega has 21 per cent.

However, the majority of the respondents remain undecided on who is between the two is the bonafide SG of the former ruling party, at 47 per cent.

The survey was conducted between September 8 - September 10, 2023. It involved 1,007 respondents.

Data was collected through Telephonic Interviews conducted (with respondents whose contacts were collected through previous face-to-face (i.e., household-based interviews)

"Interviews conducted in Swahili (mainly) and English," Tifa said.

Nationally Representative Sample was spread across nine zones; Central Rift, Coast, Lower Eastern, Mt Kenya, Nairobi, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift, and Western, with a margin error of +/- 3.1%.

The Jubilee party in currently locked in a court battle over its leadership.

One faction led by Jeremiah Kioni is pro-retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, while another faction led by Kega is pro-president William Ruto. Both sides also have their leadership teams.
