Police seize suspected illicit brew in Kiambu

Police in Theta police station within Juja, Kiambu County have confiscated suspicious items suspected to be illicit brew.

In a statement issued by the National Police Service (NPS) on Monday, police seized suspicious items including 258 cartons of Starlin bottles and 13 cartons of Chrome Vodka bottles.

NPS in their statement also said that they managed to impound 10,000 Starlin red bottle tops, 4 cartons of Starlin labels, 5000 fake KRA stamps, 1200 empty Starlin bottles, and a fully set up distillation machine.

This achievement comes after a joint effort on September 18, 2023, where a team of security officers from Kiambu County alongside the public conducted a crackdown.

“The seizure follows a crackdown conducted on 18 /09/23 by a multi-agency security team from Kiambu County with the help of members of the public,” NPS said.

This comes after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ordered a nationwide crackdown on illicit brews.
