Senior officials at the Ministry of Interior on Friday signed their performance contracts.
The event presided by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, was the first one since Kindiki took over the ministry in October 2022.
Principal Secretaries, Inspector General of Police, and other Heads of Department at the ministry did the signing.
Speaking at the event, the CS urged the officers to take the contracts seriously as they strive to deliver in their respective departments.
"What we have witnessed is a very serious activity. You all heard the tone of the President in terms of performance. The terms and the contents of these documents were negotiated with each one of us so there should be no reason why the results that we are looking for cannot be achieved," Kindiki told the officers.
The CS asked the officers to take performance seriously and to do that, they should ensure that the pressure that is being exerted on them to perform goes downwards on those who are working under them.
"If you can exert even greater pressure. It makes the chances of your success feasible," Kindiki noted
In addition, the Interior Chief offered his full support and that of Internal Security and National Administration PS Raymond Omollo to the officers.
He highlighted that he operates with an open-door policy and can consult him when they encounter challenges.
"All of us will support you and we are cheering you on as you shine in your respective area in your respective responsibilities," Kindiki added.
He emphasized that the success recorded by the Ministry is the collective success of every agency and department.
"I want you to succeed because your success and our success are intertwined together," Kindiki said.
The signing of the contracts is a commitment by the officials to deliver on their priorities as captured in the Plan.
It is aimed at enhancing the linkage between performance contracts and key performance indicators contained in the program-based budget under implementation by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
