Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has cautioned the Kenya Kwanza leaders over their statements, especially during the ongoing bipartisan talks.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, Onyonka urged the leaders to check out what they say as most of the issues might affect the talks.
“Let them know that whatever they are going to say, this matter is more important because it's about Kenya,” he said.
“If these talks fail, we will never forgive this administration and its leadership.”
Onyonka urged the bipartisan team to constitute a legal framework where servers can be opened.
He said they should elect a few individuals who can have access to the information contained in the server and swear not to disclose it.
“Can we look at the structural or the set-up of the servers and find out where there are mistakes so that in the next election we don’t repeat the same mistakes,” Onyonka said.
“We can have a non-disclosure agreement where we will agree the individuals who are going to look at this. It can either be members of the particular committee and they’ll be sworn not to release that information and if they do, it will be considered null and void.”
The Senator said the basic purpose of the move is to find out why after every five years when the elections are held, the country is usually split.
He said the country should strive to create a system that is verifiable, believable and effective.
