A 10-year-old girl died on the spot in a Sunday morning accident that occurred at Soliat Corner, Soko Huru along the Kisumu-Kericho highway involving a lorry.
The girl was inside a building that got hit by the vehicle after the driver lost control and veered off the road to the left.
It hit the residential plot damaging it.
According to police, the unknown driver was driving the said motor vehicle from Kericho towards Kisumu.
A woman aged 30 and a one-year-old were injured and are currently admitted to Kericho Level 5 Hospital.
The vehicle is still at the scene waiting for offloading and towing to the Police Station.
The accident comes barely hours after another accident happened along the Nairobi-Namanga highway.
Four people died in the accident with seven others seriously injured.
The accident occurred near UMMA University in Kajiado at around 8:00 PM when the driver of the 14-seater matatu lost control of the vehicle following a tyre burst.
According to eyewitnesses, the matatu heading to Kitengela town from Bissil veered off the road when one of its back tyres burst.
Two people died on the spot while two more succumbed to their injuries at the Kajiado County Referral Hospital where they had been rushed to for treatment.
Seven other people who sustained serious injuries were admitted to the referral hospital.
