President William Ruto has urged the leaders and delegates attending the Africa Climate Summit to find time in their schedules to explore the city.

Speaking during a presidential session on the second day of the summit, Ruto said the Kenyan capital has a lot to offer, that the visiting delegates should enjoy.

"I welcome you to Nairobi, our burgeoning and sleepless Green City in the sun that is bounded by a National Wildlife Park and a closed canopy of indigenous forest," he said.

"In between our capital pulsates with a restless energy of community, enterprise Industry, Innovation, learning, fun, and adventure. Please feel at home and find time to enjoy the sights and sounds of our city and country. And when I say welcome home, it's both figuratively but also in reality."

Ruto also thanked the leaders present for finding time to travel to Kenya for the climate summit.

Events scheduled at the climate summit are proof of the commitment and determination to put an end to climate change.

"The numerous events that make up this summit have so far demonstrated impressive commitment, extraordinary enthusiasm, exemplary motivation, and unparalleled determination to confront the problems, clarify issues, engage inclusively, and define a unique strategy platform for the implementation of bold interventions to catalyse progress in the global climate action agenda," Ruto said.

The second day of the Africa Climate Summit has seen at least 16 heads of state from other African countries gather in Nairobi.

The summit is pushing for new financing and custom-made solutions to climate change for the African continent and the world.
