President William Ruto on Sunday afternoon will chair a meeting with Luhya leaders at Kakamega State lodge.
The strategic meeting part of his five-day development tour will be loaded with political significance.
On Saturday, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi called on Western Kenya region to appreciate the generosity of President William Ruto.
Mudavadi said the head of state has extended an olive branch to the people in the region and wants them to be part of his government.
“When we say we want a united Kenya and call for national unity and inclusivity, President Ruto is the best example of this. We have seen the key appointments he has given to the sons and daughters of Mulembe nation," he said.
The President began his tour in Busia on Saturday for a series of events-development and political.
While there, the President will launched fish landing berth in Bunyala and commission a laboratory and dining hall at Alupe University.
Ruto will also visited the site of Nasewa EPZ and launch KMTC at Kachok.
From Sunday to Monday, the President will camp in Bungoma, the backyard of Wetang'ula.
On Sunday, he will launch new Bungoma county assembly building and the 300-bed maternity wing at Bungoma County Referral Hospital.
Ruto will visit the troubled Nzoia Sugar Company and announce its revival plans.
He will also launch the construction of an aggregated industrial park in Sang’alo. The county government allocated Sh250 million towards the construction of the industrial park.
The President will also commission the Bungoma North TTI in Tongaren constituency.
On Tuesday, Ruto will pitch tent in Kakamega where he’s expected to launch several projects and address roadside rallies.
The head of state is tentatively planned to visit Mudavadi’s Vihiga backyard but this was yet to be firmed up by State House as at last evening.
