Trade CS Moses Kuria now says that all 47 counties will have an industrial park, in 12 months.
Speaking after a meeting with the Council of Governors, Kuria said work has to start immediately because they cannot waste a single day if this is to be achieved.
The CS insisted that this can only be achieved if there is peace in the country.
Kuria had met the governors to review the progress of the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks.
He said that following the meeting, it emerged that only 15 counties have Industrial parks.
"I appeared before the Council of Governors to review the progress of the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPS). It dawned on us that 32 out of 47 counties, do not have any form of Industry save for your usual coffee or tea factory or Posho Mill," Kuria said.
"This, even to me was shocking. We will have an Industrial Park in every county in the next 12 months We can not afford a single day lost. We need peace."
Kuria met the CoG on Monday.
Industrial and aggregation parks are one of the ways the Kenya Kwanza administration is seeking to boost agriculture and create jobs in the country.
In February, President William Ruto said the government would allocate Sh1oo million to every county for the construction of Industrial and Aggregation Parks.
The President said the move will enhance Kenya's productivity as the nation is prioritising the consolidation, processing, and value addition of agricultural products.
"We will allocate the first Sh100 million to every county for the construction of Industrial and Aggregation Park so that we can have aggregation on all our farm products," he said.
