Kwanza MP Ferdinand Wanyonyi has urged Kenyans to stop demonstrations called by Opposition Coalition Party Azimio La Umoja.

He said Kenyans have not earned anything from the protests but instead, they have resulted in the destruction of properties and the death of young people.

The MP called for the arrest of those who hurt others during protests.

"Those who are demonstrating using knives should be arrested because if it is to protest it should be peaceful. Please Kenyans understand that we are not gaining anything from these demonstrations," Wanyonyi said.

Wanyonyi was speaking at Misanga Secondary School in Trans-Nzoia County on Saturday.

He added that Azimio should settle their issues with the government instead of urging people to demonstrate.

"If Azimio has any issue with the government, they should come forward and address themselves. We shall listen to them and agree but stop telling people to fight each other," Wanyonyi said.

He further condemned leaders who are allegedly funding Azimio protests to stop the act.

"The leadership of ODM or Azimio, please stop funding these protests because we know there is almost Sh300,000 brought here for people to do demonstrations," he said.
