"I am very proud of this young man, Geoffrey Mosiria, our journey has been very long since I was MP, he is a very hard-working man," Sakaja said of Mosiria.

"He is not your ordinary person, he is hard-working, steadfast and very practical. Since independence, Nairobi has never had an Intensive Care Unit (ICU in Nairobi, through Mosiria now we have an ICU at Mama Lucy.''

He lauded Mosiria for his hard work saying he has been instrumental in equipping health facilities after unlocking a debt stand off the Kenya Media Supplies Authority (Kemsa).

Sakaja also endorsed a request by the community representatives to go through Mosiria when reaching out to the Abagusii community.

"There are those who come claiming to be spokesperson, but now that you have said that I pass through Mosiria then I will do that," he said.

It also offered an opportunity for the clergy to pray for the country at a time when Kenya is witnessing political tensions.

Faithfuls from various churches in all the wards of Nairobi City County are attending the service at KICC with Solicitor General Shadrack Mose and also among senior national government officials attending the prayer session..

During the event, a section of political leaders from the Abagusii community asked Sakaja to continue giving to members of the community.

Former political advisor to retired Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Stephen Nyarangi, said the Abagusii community remains grateful to Sakaja for appointments made.

"As the Abagusii community we are very happy with the opportunities you have given us in Nairobi, we pray that you continue recognising our contribution in many sectors in Nairobi," Nyarangi said.

Nyarangi said Abagusii elders in Nairobi had agreed to empower Mosiria as the community's point man in Nairobi.

Mosiria is tipped to step in and provide political leadership for the community in the Capital City.

"Going forward, it is Mosiria who will be representing the community in Nairobi and all issues related to the Abagusii community will pass through him," Nyarangi.

According to Nyarangi the responsibilities Mosiria will handle include political issues in which he will play a key role in negotiations.

"We will sit down and agree, through Mosiria's leadership, field sole aspirants in all electives posts in Nairobi,'' he said.

Former presidential running mate Alfayo Onyambu said Mosiria will be the community's kingpin in Nairobi.

"Anybody who wants to come to the Abagusii community will have to pass through this boy(Mosiria), all the Abagusii leadership in Nairobi has now been entrusted to Mosiria," he said.

During the event, the Mosiria family thanked Sakaja for picking a member of the family as a Chief Officer and asked their son to serve the governor with dedication.

"We want to ask you to serve the governor with diligence, dedication and loyalty',' the family said in a statement read by Mosiria's brother.

The Solicitor General who also attended the thanksgiving event praised Mosiria terming him a hard-working 'young man'.

"You are a young but intelligent young man, when others go up Mosiria also has an opportunity to climb the leadership ladder, Nairobi is big," said Mose.
