A section of journalists on Friday morning received rough treat as they attempted to cover a bail ruling court hearing at Milimani courts.

The media had arrived to cover Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's bail ruling.

There was a heavy presence of armed police outside the court chambers.

A photojournalist is seen falling on the staircase after being pushed by police.

The harassment happened as Babu Owino and self-styled ghetto president Calvin Gaucho were granted a cash bail of Sh100,000 each.

Milimani chief magistrate Lukas Onyina in his ruling on Friday morning noted that the charge against the accused persons is punishable upon conviction for imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years.

Onyina added that one of the reasons advanced by the prosecution was that the witnesses were most likely to interfere with witnesses.

However, he said the prosecution was not clear on which of the accused persons would interfere with witnesses.
