Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando

Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando now says former President Uhuru Kenyatta should confront his critics.

This is owing to the recent attack on Uhuru despite hiM not showing up to any of the Azimio demonstrations.

"Uhuru, too, should emerge for a face-off now that they're gleefully peeing on his face," he said.

A section of Kenya Kwanza leaders have lodged accusations against Uhuru including President William Ruto who claimed that the ex-president was financing Azimio's protests.

Addressing the residents of Nakuru County on Friday, Ruto asked Uhuru to stop sponsoring Raila's cause.

"Na mimi nataka nimwambie rafiki yangu Uhuru hata wewe achana na huyu mzee. Wacha kumpea pesa ya kununua watu ya mugiki wachome Nairobi, " he said.

The remarks by Kega come even as Kenya Kwanza leaders pile pressure on Uhuru and Raila to cease holding demos.

On Thursday, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei warned that they will hold a "peaceful sitting in" at the homes of both Azimio leader Raila Odinga and Uhuru in case, the protests are not called off.

This, he added, was going in protest of the destruction of public property on Wednesday.

"Next week as Azimio-Oka/Tinga/Uhuru prepare for maandamanos. We the silent majority shall have a peaceful sitting in/courtesy call at the homes/residences of Tinga/Uhuru from Karen -Bondo- Gatundu to protest their destruction of our properties and lives and to stop their nonsensical agenda of sabotaging government. Wacha katambe sasa!" Cherargei said.

Uhuru has been engaged in his duties as the Facilitator of the EAC-Led Nairobi Peace Process.

On Wednesday, during the Azimio demonstrations, Uhuru was at Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for the second Executive Consultative Technical team meeting.

The forum was held at the Serena Hotel in Goma.

Further, in his statement, Kabando reiterated his urge to Raila not to relent with the protests.

"For Unity of Purpose to rescue Kenyans suffering #CostOfLivingCrisis #FinanceAct2023 taxes and indecent politics fuelled by empty promises on presidential fiat, we urge Raila to remain steadfast," Kabando said.
