Several passengers have been injured following a road accident along Nakuru- Kericho highway.
The accident occurred after the Ena Coach bus which was travelling from Nairobi heading to Kisumu overturned at Segecha area near Mau Summit interchange.
Confirming the accident, police said the bus was carrying 51 passengers among them 37 students from 16 different schools who were on their way to school after the mid-term break.
"The driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road on the left side as you face Kericho from Mau Summit general direction," the police said.
Five passengers sustained serious injuries while 36 passengers sustained minor injuries.
11 passengers were unhurt.
Police said all injured persons were rushed to Londiani Hospital for treatment, with the seriously injured having been referred to Kericho Referral Hospital.
This is a few kilometres from the scene of the accident that claimed at least 52 lives in Londiani on Friday.
