Stanbic Bank has announced that it will carry out investigations on the issues that transpired during the Stanbic Yetu Festival that took place on June 10, 2023, at the Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
This is after most of the attendees expressed their dissatisfaction with the event.
In a statement released on Friday, Stanbic Bank acknowledged that the key elements of the show fell short of meeting the standards leading to disappointment amongst music fans who attended the concert.
“As an organization, we have taken note with great concern, the respectful feedback and detailed observations shared by fans,” reads the statement.
“To this end, we have engaged our event organization partner, the Radio Africa Group, with a view of identifying the root cause of the issues presented.”
Most attendees complained of overcrowding, poor sound quality, screens not working for revellers who couldn’t see the stage and poor location set up with too few tents, food stands and washrooms.
However, they have thanked thousands of fans who attended the 2nd Edition of the Stanbic Yetu Festival and promised to do better.
“We want to provide assurance that a comprehensive investigation is underway, and an events report will be shared with the sponsors to help inform the organization of future events to ensure that the experience of all attendees meets the expected high standards,” reads the statement.
It added that their aim was to provide a platform for Kenyans to experience a memorable and authentic live-music event, when they partnered with the event organisers, Radio Africa Group and Radio Africa Events.
“Our commitment to support the development of creative industry, encouraging partnerships and molding a unique cultural identity through social interactions remains strong,” reads the statement.
