There was an uproar in the National Assembly ahead of the Budget statement reading after Suna West MP Peter Masara accused United Democratic Alliance MPs of walking in and out of the chamber like it was a street in Sugoi.
Sugoi is the hometown of President William Ruto.
According to Masara, the legislators were disrespecting the Seat of Speaker Moses Wetangula.
He said courtesy demands that they show the Speaker respect before moving from one place to another.
"Mr Speaker I'm seeing something very strange happening today, you must be respected. Members of UDA are just passing as here as if this is a street in Sugoi," Masara who had risen on a point of order said.
"This is parliament you must go there and respect the speaker and come here. That is very wrong."
Speaker Wetang'ula later intervened and insisted that despite the concerns he had raised, which were genuine, he should have done it with respect.
"Hon Masara, you don't have to prosecute your point of order laced with poison. Yes, it is indeed wrong for any member of parliament to cross the aisle and you can raise your point of order without being derogatory," Wetangula said.
