A first-term lawmaker from Western is the talk of his town as two damsels allegedly go for each other’s jugular daily in a race for his attention. The two, a nominated member of the county assembly and a popular ‘slay queen’, have reportedly been exchanging unprintable words in a social media group they share membership. A mole in the group told Corridors of Power that the fights at times sometimes become the key discussion in the group for days on end. In posturing against each other, the women send sound bytes to the group suggesting they are in the MP’s company.

A county government in a metropolis is in the eye of a storm over alleged skewed payment of pending bills. The administration is supposedly reluctant to pay some contractors despite being cleared in a verification ordered by the governor. While some contractors have been reportedly denied their cash despite clearance, another lot of contractors, especially legal service providers, are just about to be paid Sh650 million. The cash has been set aside for their payments despite some of the firms allegedly missing from the list of those cleared. A renowned former MCA and a female county official are on the spot for pushing the illegitimate pending bills.

Just where has a second-term governor disappeared to? This is the question by his constituents, including some close confidants, who have difficulties tracing his activities, let alone his whereabouts that were initially an open book for them. The county chief is said to have unusually gone underground, only letting his key men supposedly run the show. The man, who was overwhelmingly voted in for a second term, has not been seen for days, leaving the electorate wondering whether all is well with him or it is just his strategy of playing by the 40 edicts of power.
