Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has once again launched an attack on the Media accusing it of perpetuating "half-truths and innuendos".

The Senate Majority Leader first attacked the Fourth Estate on March 6 in relation to the coverage of pre-election campaigns.

He bundled the Media together with the banking sector and termed them 'extremely powerful cartels' that even President William Ruto may not manage to crush.

He continued the onslaught a day later saying "the truth hurts but must still be said" after his remarks were condemned by the Media and opposition leaders.

On Friday, Cheruiyot repeated his onslaught on the Media but without mentioning what was at 'fault' this time.

"Our Cartel controlled Media Houses sold lies about us throughout the campaign period. We humbled them and their masters at the polls. They are back again with their half-truths and innuendos. Despite their doomsday prophecy, KE will be immensely transformed as they watch," the senator said in a tweet.

Following the attack in March, Media stakeholders led by the Kenya Editors Guild termed the senator's utterances a direct threat to press freedom.

"This appears to be a well-choreographed scheme to profile a key pillar of Kenya's democracy and lead a lynch mob to try and cripple it," Kenya Editors Guild President Churchill Otieno said in a statement on March 6.
