Kalonzo speaks on son's life-threatening accident for the first time

He said anyone who witnessed the accident knows how fatal it was.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has broken his silence on the life-threatening accident his son was involved in, early this year.

According to the former vice president, the accident involved a 20-wheel trailer, but he was grateful that he is recovering.

Kalonzo said anyone who witnessed the accident knows how fatal it was.

He appreciated Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti who was among the first responders to the scene.

The Wiper leader said Wavinya had to cancel her trip outside the country, to save his son's life.

"We thank God the young man survived. Anyone who witnessed that accident it was a terrible accident... We thank God for Governor Wavinya Ndeti. She canceled her trip to save this young man," Kalonzo said during a meeting at his Yatta farm, on Friday.

The accident occurred in January 2023. At least four people were injured in the accident.

The accident happened at JKIA's primary screening yard after a truck driver lost control and hit their car from behind at about 7 am.

Kalonzo reminisced about the accident as his sons joined him on the podium before he addressed the delegation at his Yatta farm.

At the time of the accident, the Musyoka family statement thanked Kenyans who had reached out to the family after the accident.

“The family of Kalonzo Musyoka would like to thank all who have called and texted concerning the accident at JKIA involving Kevin. The first responders to the scene were extremely professional and diligent and we thank God for them,” a statement from Kalonzo's team read.
