A faction backed by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has kicked out Jubilee party rebels including nominated MP Sabina Chege, regional body MP Kanini Kega and Nelson Dzuya.
The move by the former President's led National Delegates convention is part of his bold steps to punish dissidents and steady the wobbling Jubilee party.
To fill the leadership vacuum created by the expulsions, the Jubilee NDC adopted far reaching changes that saw new officials picked.
In changes announced by embattled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni, Jamleck Kamau was appointed the national director of elections taking over from Kega.
The party also appointed blogger Pauline Njoroge as its new deputy organizing secretary.
Rights activist Maison Leshoomo was named the Women’s League national chair.
