Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu now says that the Jubilee Party Monday National Delegates Convention will only leave the party weaker than it is.

Speaking on Sunday, Ngunjiri said his wish was that the party leader postponed the NDC and united the party first.

He insisted that the NDC will see some key members of the party pushed out, a move that will leave the former ruling party weaker than it is.

"I wish it was possible to postpone the NDC and get the two sides of Jubilee party to agree and disagree on the things they can, and as party leader give direction that takes the entire party forward.

"I wish we went to this NDC as one united party, which was my push. We are not ready for an NDC. We should have started from the grassroots up. This push for an NDC from one group within our party and hostility from another group means that whatever happens on Monday, is going to leave us weaker," Ngunjiri stated.

He added that what their party should be focused on currently is bringing onboard more members.

He said the party members should also put their minds together and place Jubilee on the right path.

"Some people are going to be pushed out some left in and when you are not a ruling party, you can't be pushing people out of a party. We should be trying to bring in many people and put the party in the right place."

Ngunjiri said the Jeremiah Kioni and Kanini Kega-led factions within Jubilee remind him of the Tangatanga and Kieleweke sides that led to a fallout within the party.

He said this is what led to the party becoming weak.

"Jubilee holds an NDC. I do not plan to attend and I really pray we never got to this point. For me, it's a deja vu moment. I remember Kieleweke and Tangatanga's fights and how they led to a much weaker Jubilee. The Kanini, Kioni fight that is going on now, is the same thing."
