Judicial Service Commission shortlists five candidates for Chief Kadhi

The Judicial Service Commission has shortlisted five candidates for the Chief Kadhi job.

In a statement on Monday, among those shortlisted include Sukyan Hassan Omar, Idris Nyamagosa Nyaboga and Athman Abdulhalim Hussein.

Others include Kutwaa Mohamed Abdalla and Omari Hassan Kinyua.

The position was advertised on April 14, 2023, and the advertisement closed on April 28, 2023.

The commission said there was a  total of 24 applications that were received and they shortlisted five candidates.

The commission said it is committed to enhancing the human resource capacity of the Judiciary to deliver on its mandate.

JSC also shortlisted for the post of Registrar of the High Courts including Anne Wanjiru Mwangi,  Mbulikah Pauline Wangari, Mikoyan Denis Kipkirui, Nyamora Fredrick Momanyi, Juma Elizabeth Nyarangi and  Elizabeth Tanui

Other posts include the registrar of the magistrate court which was advertised on January 13 and interviews will be conducted on May 31.

The shortlisted candidates include Kabucho Caroline Njeri, Kasavuli Bernard Onziru, Were Joseph Maloba and Kiniale Lilian Nafula.

JSC is a constitutional commission established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to promote and facilitate the independence and accountability of the Judiciary and the efficient, effective and transparent administration of Justice.
