The Directorate of Public Affairs and Communication judiciary has announced a change of dates for swearing in Bishop David Oginde as the new EACC chairperson.
Oginde was to be sworn in on Monday afternoon at the Supreme Court but the ceremony has been rescheduled for Tuesday.
Chief Justice Martha Koome will preside over the swearing.
"Kindly note the Swearing-in of the Chairperson EACC has been moved to Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 2:30 pm. Not today as earlier announced," the judicial communication team said.
Oginde will be taking the mantle from Archbishop (Emeritus) Eliud Wabukala who served a successful six-year non-renewable term.
On March 11, President William Ruto forwarded Oginde's name as a nominee for the EACC position to the National Assembly for consideration.
14 names were submitted as nominees to the Public Service Commission and after a competitive recruitment process, the PSC landed on Oginde.
Before his appointment, Oginde served as the Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and is also the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University.
He holds a PhD in Organisational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA, and a Master's Degree in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
