City lawyer Danstan Omari now wants National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah to apologise over a tweet in which he allegedly claimed the lawyer frequents the infamous Koinange Street.

In a demand letter to Ichungwa, Omari through lawyer Brian Mabeya also wants the legislator to retract the tweet and apologise within seven days.

Mabeya claims that on February 1, 2023, Ichung'wah posted a tweet stating “Phew! At least am known in Kikuyu by my people unlike the fake media-based liar only known along Koinange Street.”

The tweet was made as a caption to a response to a video posted by NTV in which Omari was saying Ichung'wah is only known in Kikuyu not worldwide.

Mabeya further says that the tweet was meant to portray Omari as a person of loose morals who keeps the company of prostitutes.

“Our client is an advocate of several years standing and has been a lecturer of law, he is also a father and a married man," the letter reads.

"Your tweet was therefore calculated to injure the image and character of our client in the eyes of the public."
