Vihiga residents took to the streets to demonstrate the high cost of living even as they chanted Ruto must go! songs.
Demonstrators crippled transport activities along the Kabsabet-Chavakali highway.
This comes after the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga asked his supporters to protest against President William Ruto's regime.
"We want the Government to lower the cost of living, check into CBC programs as well," one of the protesters said.
This is the second time protests are taking place in Vihiga county.
Mass protests in the country began on March 30 after Raila urged his supporters to do so.
Odinga in his statement said the protests will go on until the head of state William Ruto's administration heed their demands.
" We want him (President William Ruto) to lower the cost of living, check into CBC problems, IEBC recruitments, and to end tribal selections of government officials," Raila said in a previous statement.
Already in Siaya county, UDA offices have been torched in the mass protests.
