President William Ruto has revealed why Kenya is standing with Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview with international media DW, Ruto explained that Kenya is a believer in the UN Charter.
"Kenya is a great believer and signatory to the UN Charter, which speaks directly to rules-based globe which ensures that there is respect for countries and their boundaries," he said.
"Any violation of the UN Charter by anybody in whatever manner is a threat to violation of the Charter."
The Head of State further highlighted that all countries might find themselves in a similar position if the issue is not resolved.
Ruto explained that the issues between the two countries can be resolved If the global rules are respected.
"Today it is Russia and Ukraine. You never know who it will be tomorrow if we allow this to go on. So our position has been this can be resolved. We must respect the UN Charter," he said.
"That's the position of Kenya. That's the position of the UN and any country that subscribes to the UN Charter and as you say, correctly."
