The bitter rifts between governor James Orengo and his deputy William Oduol will now play out on the floor of the Siaya County assembly.
The assembly on Thursday invited Oduol to appear before the house's general oversight Committee within 14 days.
The reason for the summons is to have the deputy governor shed light on the import of his recent utterances on the governor and his administration.
The notice of motion to have Oduol appear before the house was tabled by Yimbo East MCA Francis Otiato.
But the split amongst the MCAs themselves was manifested after all the six MCAs from the Alego Usonga constituency protested about it.
They appeared to fear a possible backlash from their backyard for failing to stand with "their son" in the hour of need.
Oduol is from the vote-rich Alego Usonga and has influence in the sub-county that voted overwhelmingly in support of the Orengo/Oduol ticket in the last elections.
The MCAs who staged a walkout from the house on Thursday included Sylvester Madialo( Usonga), James Obiero Otare( Siaya Township), David Ababa Ragen( Central Alego), Masidis Madowo(South East Alego), Vincent Odawa(North Alego) and Felix Okumu(West Alego).
However, 36 MCAs approved to notice of motion to summon Oduol to the house.
Siaya County has a total of 42 MCAs, 12 of whom are nominated members.
The allegations that the MCAs want the deputy governor to clarify include his remarks on social media platforms that Orengo's administration will be worse than that of former governor Cornel Rasanga.
The other concerns by the MCAs include Oduol's comments on the same platform that Orengo was a hands-off administrator who has given questionable characters the opportunity to steal county resources unabated and that he is taking Siaya the wrong path.
According to the motion, Oduol also accused Orengo of allegedly overseeing discriminatory reallocation of the budget to the disadvantage of Alego Usonga residents.
He further alleged that the current bursary allocation and maize seeds distribution was riddled with corruption.
Oduol, according to the motion also alleged that certain officers were being targeted for removal from the county service because they come from Alego Usonga.
The DG, the motion states, also claimed that there were some people who want him removed for his stand against corruption in the Siaya County executive.
During the appearance before the committee, the MCAs expect the deputy governor to table documentary evidence or otherwise to prove his allegations.
" It is a deep concern that the uncensored allegations by the DG signifies his lack of confidence and mistrust in the county leadership," the resolution read in part.
"If not explored, would give negative connotations about the role of the assembly on checking the executive," it adds.
According to the motion, the allegations have the possibility of implanting hopelessness in the people of Siaya who may misconstrue a moribund county government.
Last Saturday, Orengo dismissed Oduol saying his DG has never won any political contest on his own and should stop daring him into a duel.
On Thursday, Oduol told the Star he had not been informed about the motion.
"No, I am not aware. No communication so far," he said in a text message to this writer.
