They had on Monday stormed the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
Soon after their entrance, they were dismissed by police officers who hurled tear gas canisters at them.
The protests held in Nairobi, Kisumu and other parts of the country saw running battles, arrests and teargas exchanging hands between police and supporters of the opposition.
On Tuesday, Raila announced that the protests will now be held twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) beginning next week.
“In the second phase of our protest, and response to public demand, we shall now hold the protests every Monday and Thursday beginning next week,” he declared at a press conference in Nairobi.
“We reiterate to our supporters and all patriotic Kenyans that this struggle is just starting. We are not looking back and we will not be intimidated. No retreat, no surrender.”
