Loader, 23, killed by log in Limuru accident

 A 23-year-old man was killed after a log he and others were loading onto a tractor trapped him in an accident in Limuru, Kiambu.

Police and witnesses said the casual worker identified as Samuel Wanjogo Gitau died on the spot following the Monday evening incident.

He and other workers of a timber yard in the area were busy at the scene when the incident happened.

They were downloading blue gum logs from a tractor when the deceased slid and fell before the log landed on him.

The body was removed to Tigon mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In Nakuru, one Augustine Makokha Barasa, 31 was killed in an attack.

The deceased girlfriend told police she and the man were walking to their house when a group of three approached them prompting Barasa to run away with the assailants in his pursuit.

When the woman followed the direction they ran to she found him lying on the road motionless following the Tuesday morning incident in Dafra area.

Police who visited the scene said the deceased body had injuries on the head and had no shoes then.

This gave an indication the attackers robbed him in the process. The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigation and arrest of the attackers.

In Molo, a man was arrested after he hit and killed another one in a fight.

The deceased was identified as William Mongare Bomariba, 55.

The assailant told police he hit him with a metal rod in the head and he died on the spot.

The murder weapon was recovered and kept as an exhibit
