President William Ruto will on Thursday embark on a three-day visit to the South Nyanza region, a tour that will see him traverse three counties of Kisii, Nyamira and Migori.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed is due to address the press on Wednesday about the President's inaugural visit to the Gusii region and a section of Luo Nyanza.

Hussein's press briefing at the Kisii State Lodge will highlight key projects that the President will commission during his tour.

In January, President Ruto toured three Luo Nyanza counties of Homa Bay, Kisumu and Siaya where he commissioned several development projects and also held talks with leaders from the region.

According to details seen by the Star, the President will on Thursday commission the Kegati Water project in Nyaribari Chache Constituency.

He will later head to Nyamira to commission the construction of the Gekano-Rigoma-Amabuko Road on the same day.

On Thursday evening, the President is scheduled to hold a dinner at the Kisii State Lodge with Members of Parliament from the region.

On Friday, the President will return to Nyamira for the second time to commission the construction of Gamba-Kegogi Road.

He will then proceed to Ritacho Primary School in Nyaribari Masaba constituency to grace the homecoming ceremony of his Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

On Saturday morning, the President will hold a leaders' meeting at the Kisii State Lodge before departing Kisii for a day-long tour of Migori.

The President will then tour Kuria West and hold meetings in Motemorabu in Nyabohanse.

He will then head to Kuria East for meetings at Taranganya and also visit the Ntimaru-Nyamitaro one-stop border post.

The President's second tour of the Nyanza region comes at a time when opposition leader Raila Odinga-the region's political kingpin-has launched an aggressive resistance against his government.
