Police officers in Kisumu repelled a team of protesters who were trying to gain access to the Kisumu State Lodge.

The protestors were approaching the premise on motorbikes when officers were forced to lob teargas canisters to disperse them.

Roads leading to the premise were barricaded, forcing protesters to retreat.

The protests have been witnessed in Nairobi, Kitale, Homa Bay and Kisumu.
