One question that will keep ringing at the back of your head is; why am I eating too much? Today, however,  will give you some possible reasons why you are experiencing this.

Working out

One of the biggest reasons your appetite could have gone up is because you engage in high physical exertion activity.

This way, if it is in the gym, your body has some extra activity that it is engaged in, and thus needs more calories.

You are stressed

Different people respond to stress differently, but while most people will go without food for long, there’s a batch that will go for snacks.

If you are a stress eater, sometimes you may not even tell whether it’s real hunger or it’s just an urge to ‘eat out’ the stress.

According to Healthline, this could also be tied to other mental health issues such as anxiety and depression among others.

Eating wrong foods

Some simple carbohydrates and sugars will keep you full for longer. This, however, is what most of us go to whenever hunger strikes. This is one reason you may sometimes find yourself eating more calories than you need.

Having a meal that is rich in fibre and proteins can get you going for hours.

You are pregnant

According to research, an increased appetite during pregnancy is a very common occurrence.

This is because, with pregnancy, changes in hormones can make you feel hungry at any time. This explains why even before the baby bump can be physically seen, some people can pinpoint that one is expecting a child.

This creates situations where you have to sometimes wake up late into the night just to eat. Research says a woman’s body gets better at using energy from food.

However, other effects such as nausea can have some women to lose their appetite.

Lack of enough sleep

Studies show that people who sleep for less than seven hours each day are more likely to overeat.

Sleep affects our appetite hormones and also feeling sluggish due to drowsiness might prompt you to eat.

Other reasons that could make someone's appetite increase include; sickness, and some medications.
