Former UDA candidates from Kisumu county who vied for various posts in the last year's General elections have called on President William Ruto to remember them in his appointment.

The aspirants vied for the governor position, MP seat and even MCA post.

Speaking to the media, Led by Erick Osenya UDA chairman Kisumu, the former candidates thanked the President for his appointments of people from the region saying it was a good gesture despite not getting many votes from the area.

Osenya said they have seen appointments for the CAS position and acknowledged that people from the region have benefited.

However, he said, some of the former candidates for various posts within the lakeside city should also be remembered in such appointments.

"We are not against any person or member of the Luo community being appointed, but the party should also consider that the 11,000 votes gotten from Kisumu, there are people who did their best."

He said there are people who made enemies within the community and endured a lot to ensure that the party at least got some votes.

"All we are requesting the President is that he should at least consider some of the candidates," said Osenya adding that as of now, no former candidate within Kisumu has been appointed for any post.

John Odenyo, a former aspirant, also stated that it was important that those who played a key role in ensuring the party get the 11,000 votes from Kisumu are appreciated.

Odenyo said they would like to see progressive ways of Luo Nyanza expanded but what they are seeing, they are afraid they will be held back.

"Those who played a key role in the initial stages of UDA in Kisumu, we would like to appreciate what the President is doing and would like him to consider us," he said.
