South African rapper Costa Titch dies while performing on stage

South Africa is once again mourning the death of an icon.

Rapper and songwriter Costa Tsobanoglou popularly known as Costa Titch collapsed and died at a music festival in Johannesburg.

In videos gone viral on social media on Saturday night, the 27-year-old was performing on stage and collapsed while singing one of his songs.

He was quickly lifted up by his security and continued performing but however collapsed again and this time didn't stand again.

People were seen rushing and reaching to help him.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation about his death or the cause.

His death comes exactly a month after another SA tapper Kiernan Forbes alias AKA was shot dead in Durban.

Costa recently inked a contract with Konvict Kulture, Akon’s record company.

With singles like “Big Flexa,” “Nkalakatha,” and “Activate,” Titch gained popularity for his contribution to the Amapiano genre.

Big Flexa, has received over 45 million views on YouTube, and a remix featuring US artist Akon was recently released.

Although there has been no official confirmation of his death, various artists, music networks, and politicians have expressed their condolences, including Julius Sello Malema, a member of the South African parliament.
