He likened this to what Raila has previously done in Kenya after losing elections.

"They recklessly use his copyrighted cries: 'election was stolen. We must have a rerun under UN supervision. I was massively rigged out...etc' Hear now the cries of his Nigerian students!" Ahmednasir said.

On Wednesday, ruling party candidate Bola Tinubu was declared the winner of Nigeria's disputed presidential election.

The 70-year-old veteran politician got 36% of the vote, official results show.

His main rival Atiku Abubakar polled 29%, and Labour's Peter Obi 25%.

Atiku and Obi had earlier dismissed the poll as a sham and demanded a rerun.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party said results had been manipulated, leaving the poll irretrievably compromised.
