Azimio leaders should be held accountable if anything goes wrong during mass action, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda has said.

"The Opposition frontrunners should not go scot-free if any Kenyan dies or gets injured during anti-government protests," he said.

“They should not go without receiving the deserved or expected punishment if people get hurt. In case businesses are looted, they should also be punished.”

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has called on Kenyans to turn out in large numbers for mass action should the Kenya Kwanza administration fail to lower the cost of living and heed calls for electoral reforms.

The Opposition has maintained their 14-day ultimatum to President William Ruto issued on February 22 still stands.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has assured that the planned mass action against the Kenya Kwanza government will be peaceful.

He has promised that protests by the opposition outfit to denounce government excesses and non-delivery of campaign promises will not involve acts of lawlessness.

Raila has also assured that the Opposition will not do anything outside the law.

Speaking to the Star on Tuesday, Jhanda said the Opposition intends to cause chaos in the country in the guise of fighting for the ordinary Kenyan.

“The Azimio leader and his troops should be barred from travelling abroad and taken to court if anyone dies during their protests,” he said.

He said if Azimio cannot respect the government of the day and engage in criminal activities, they should be prepared to meet the full force of the law.
