Former Mukuweini MP Kabando wa Kabando now says that Raila Odinga's political star is not off as many quotas believe.

According to Kabando, the former Prime Minister needs to refocus, because he has the chance to re-brand again.

The former MP said Raila should concentrate on mobilising Kenyans against tyranny and the high cost of living.

"RAO (Raila) is not yet politically finished. In fact, he has a most strategic opportunity to re-emerge. Mobilising Kenyans against tyranny, hunger, graft, university fees, is a noble patriotic task. But for RAO to bear this torch, he'd stop his tipsy watchtower over 'Karen Royals'," Kabando said on Monday.

Kabando insisted that currently, Raila is the only national leader in Kenya who has the ability to create a movement that can seriously oversight President William Ruto's government.

He advised that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader should also stop defending individuals from the former regime, adding that their time is gone.

"Raila Amollo Odinga - aka RAO, Agwambo, Tinga, Enigma, People's President, Baba - is, for these times, the only national leader who has the wherewithal, charisma, brand, base, voice, network to galvanise popular movement to check, oversight and/or stop Ruto. But first, a refocus."

Kabando, despite being on the opposition side, has been vocal about key political developments in the country.

On Sunday, he insisted that Raila is right to critic the state because Ruto is trustworthy.

A few weeks ago, he told off opposition leader Raila Odinga over his remarks that he does not recognise Ruto as the president of Kenya.

Kabando vied for the Nyeri senate seat on a Narc Kenya ticket in August 2022.
