[PHOTOS] CS Namwamba holds talks with ambassador Meg Whitman

Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Ababu Namwamba on Monday held a discussion with the US ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman.

The CS said they discussed areas of mutual interest including the role of the youth in peace and security.

They also discussed matters of sports and the creative arts.

Namwamba said that collaboration and partnerships between the two countries will leverage the power of sports to market Kenya as a tourism destination through the ministry's sports and Safari initiative.

The CS briefed the ambassador on the Ministry's flagship Talanta Hela project, which seeks to identify, nurture and market talents to monetize the sports and the creative arts space.

Sports PS Ismail Maalim called on the ambassador to extend support for the upcoming Youth Connekt Africa Summit and Commonwealth Innovation Week.

The summit will be held in Kenya this year.
