Governor Mbarire replaces Muthama as UDA makes key changes

The changes follow NEC meeting held Monday.

Embu Governor Celily Mbarire has been named the new chairperson of the United Democratic Alliance Party.

In the changes made on Monday, she will replace former Machakos Senator  Johnson Muthama who resigned from the position.

Muthama has been nominated to be a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission, according to a report to be tabled in the National Assembly and Senate.

He is set to replace Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkong'a who resigned from the position last year to defend his seat.

In other changes, former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been named as the new  UDA secretary general.

Malala replaces Veronica Maina who was nominated to the Senate.

The changes follow UDA National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Monday.
