Kenyans applying for the Police Clearance Certificate, formally referred to as the certificate of Good Conduct, will not be required to book a fingerprinting date, DCI has said.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Tuesday said the section for booking had been scraped off the portal.
"Kindly note that you are no longer required to book a fingerprinting date while applying for the PCC (formally Good Conduct)," the DCI said.
Applicants have been encouraged to visit their convenient fingerprinting centres with their printed C24 copies, payment vouchers and original national identity cards.
A C24 is a form where one's fingerprints are taken and can be downloaded from the eCitizen portal.
The Directorate headquarters will remain accessible, to PCC applicants seeking to fingerprint, between 7 am and 3 pm.
"After 3 pm, only those within the centre are served," DCI said.
It advised those living in the city to seek the service at the Huduma Centers, to avoid long queues at the headquarters.
"Once generated, your certificate remains on your eCitizen account for a period of six months after which it is pulled down," it added.
Referencing to the period, DCI further advised the applicants seeking to use the certificate for a longer period to download and keep printed copies to avoid future frustrations.
The Directorate committed to offering the service with "dedication, care and integrity".
