Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has said that he will not take sides in the leadership wrangles within the Jubilee party.

Speaking on Monday, Wambugu said he is waiting to see the direction the party will take after the fights are settled.

He noted that the only thing that excites him is the fact that the Jubilee party which everyone thought had died, is very much alive.

"In the last week we have seen very many things happen. We have seen Raila Odinga walk into the Jubilee headquarters, we have seen Kioni removed and put back, we have seen a NEC that is divided and speaking as a member of Jubilee. I have decided I'm not going to take sides in this fight. I want to see where we are going," he said on his YouTube channel.

"The only thing that excites me about this fight is the fact that Jubilee is still alive. In the last election, we thought Jubilee had died and suddenly we have a fight about a party that people thought had died. That can only be a good thing."

The former MP further stated that despite the party performing dismally, they managed to have about 30 MPs elected in the bicameral parliament.

He called on their party leader former President Uhuru Kenyatta to take charge and help solve the infighting.

"I really wish we were not here and dealt with some of these issues internally... I want to request our Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta to give us direction."

The infighting within Jubilee saw a section of members who are pro-William Ruto kick out pro-Raila Odinga officials from office.

The pro-Raila team led by secretary general Jeremiah Kioni obtained orders from the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal reinstating them.

In the ouster, Jeremiah Kioni, David Murathe and Kagwe Gichohi was removed as Secretary general, vice chairman and Treasurer respectively.

They were replaced by an interim team led by EALA MP Kanini Kega, Eldas MP Aden Keynan and Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai.
