Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has been nominated to be a member of the Parliamentary Service Commission, according to a report to be tabled in the National Assembly and Senate.

He is set to replace Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkong'a who resigned from the position last year to defend his seat.

The report approving his nomination as non-MP commissioner will be tabled in both Houses when it resumes its sittings Tuesday.

Ruto appoints members to the National Climate Change Council

President William Ruto has appointed members to the Climate Change Council.

The nomination of Emily Mwende Waita, John Kioli, Umar Omar and George Odera Outa is contained in a communique to the Senate by the President.

The four are set to be approved.

Muchai's murder case

Hearing of the late Kabete MP George Muchai's murder case resumes today.

In the robbery with violence case, the accused persons were found with a case to answer last month. 

The magistrate said that after analysing evidence adduced before her by 36 witnesses, she found that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against all the accused persons.

They are separately also accused of murdering Muchai, his two bodyguards Samuel Kalikia and Samuel Matanta, and driver Stephen Wambugu on the night of February 6 and 7,2015 on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi.

They are further accused of robbing Michael Gituto of a vehicle and other personal property all worth Sh416,000

Fraud case

A court is set to rule on whether it will allow police to detain 10 people suspected to be part of fraud syndicate who swindled millions from Fuliza.

The suspects namely Isaac Kipkemoi, Gideon Rono, Moses Rono, Collins Kipyegon, Maxwell Ributhu, Edwin Cheruiyot, Gedion Kiru, Peter Wambui, Brenda Chepng'eno and Linda Cherono are believed to be members of a fraud syndicate that obtained Sh449.6 million through a popular mobile phone platform supported by mobile communication service provider, Safaricom.

Chief of staff PPRA tour

Head of Public Service and Chief of staff Felix Kosgei will be having a working tour of Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) offices.
