Murkomen sends home NTSA board in new changes

He also appointed six persons to the board to serve for three years.

Six members of the National Transport and Safety Authority Board have been relieved of their duties in new changes effected by Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.

They are Catherine Njeri Waweru, Alice Chepchumba Chesire, Francis Kiriinya Mwongo, Meshak Kidenda (Eng), Mithamo Muchiri and Wilfred Okemwa.

In a gazette notice dated February 10, 2023, Murkomen also appointed six persons to the board to serve for three years.

The new appointees are Nimo Omar Haji, Carol Oduor, Richard Munyao, Simon Kalekem, Ephraim Karimi Macharia and Charles Nyabuti.

Last week, President William Ruto appointed Aden Noor Ali as the chairperson of the NTSA board of directors.

Ali vied unsuccessfully for the Mandera governorship in 2022.

Before the August polls, Ali also served as a member of the Transport Licensing Appeals Board.

Announcing Ali’s appointment, President Ruto revoked the appointment of Agnes Odhiambo who had been appointed by his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta in 2020
