Police reportedly raid former CS Matiang'i's Nairobi home

Police on Wednesday night reportedly raided former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i's home in Nairobi.

Sources claimed that elite police officers arrived and surrounded his Karen home in a bid to arrest him for unspecified reasons.

ODM leader Raila Odinga and a battery of lawyers arrived at the former CS home to close ranks.

Raila said he will spend the night at the home until the matter is solved.

EACC and Assets Recovery Agency have denied any involvement in the raid.

Through his lawyers, the former CS said he had learnt of the planned raid earlier in the day. He defended himself from any wrongdoing saying he left the government a clean man.

The National Police Service was yet to speak about the raid by the time of going to the press.
