President William Ruto will on Friday preside over the ground-breaking of Shauri Moyo affordable housing project in Nairobi.

This will be Ruto's third ground raking of the AHP in the county.

So far, Ruto has commissioned the AHPs in Mukuru Met Site and Kibera in Soweto B.

He also launched the Mavoko AHP in Machakos County.

The Sh10 billion project seeks to provide more than 3,000 housing units, in support of the Government’s agenda on the provision of affordable housing for Kenyans.

Grade 7 textbook launch

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu will on Friday launch the national Grade 7 textbook distribution exercise.

The event will take place at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) at 9 am.

Police task force to collect public views

Chairperson of a task force on police reforms David Maraga will start countrywide tours to collect views from Kenyans.

The task force comprises 22 other members appointed by President William Ruto on December 22, 2022.

They are mandated to identify the constraints on effective service delivery by NPS and KPS.

Governor Njuki decries delays in releasing conditional grants

Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki is decrying delays by the national government in releasing conditional grants to counties

Governors called for the release of conditional grants directly to the devolved units.

Njuki says the funds should not be channelled through the department of public works, as is the case.

This, he said, will cure the issue of bureaucracies related to the processing of the funds that have slowed down development projects.

"What is so unique about public works that they have to not only supervise but also take part in ensuring that they are the ones who appropriate the money and give out certificates?" Njuki posed.

Company charged for defrauding customers

Three proprietors of a company that sources foodstuffs for distribution to hunger-stricken areas have been charged with defrauding two suppliers of cooking oil valued over Sh33 Million.
