ODM leader Raila Odinga has mourned the late former Education CS George Magoha describing him as an intellectual who inspired many.
Raila said he is saddened by the passing of a man he said was a dedicated people servant.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. George Magoha, a transformational leader, illustrious scholar, dedicated public servant, and distinguished medical doctor who left an indelible mark on our country's education system," Raila said in a statement shortly after news of Magoha's death became public.
"We will remember him for his incredible intellect, wit, and ability to inspire and challenge us to do our best. My condolences go out to his family and colleagues. May he Rest In Eternal Peace," Raila added.
Prof Magoha died at the Nairobi Hospital where he was rushed Tuesday afternoon after he collapsed at his home.
"It is with great regret that we announce the sudden and untimely demise of Professor George Magoha this evening at The Nairobi Hospital," The Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongo said in a statement.
Magoha leaves behind a wife, Dr Barbara O. Magoha and a son, Michael Magoha.
