A top state official, a hands-on man, has shocked his juniors with his work style. He has been personally calling his juniors, breaking the old norms whereby junior officers are normally instructed by their immediate bosses. Some of those close to him say those working under him are a worried lot as the man sometimes personally walks to work stations to issue instructions and supervise the work. Some senior officials who are not used to the new style are struggling to adjust. However, some are said to be considering quitting as the man appears keen to fix the mess caused by the previous leadership.
