Veteran journalist Geoffrey Mwavizo Mchawia has passed on after a short illness.
Mwavizo the producer of the Je wajua and Dunia Wiki Hii programs succumbed to kidney failure while undergoing treatment.
Former Nairobi Mayor Professor Nathan Kahara eulogised Mwavizo as an exceptionally skilled, credible and unbiased reporter.
Kahara said the Mwavizo will be remembered in his pending works including the unpublished magazine peace and happiness.
“Before his demise, we were teaming up to launch a new magazine titled “Peace and Happiness” with Mwavizo as the Chief Editor,” Kahara said.
Mwavizo served the Kenyan media in various capacities including KBC and freelance with government appointments as a senior communications officer at various ministries.
He also lectured at various institutions.
He is survived by five sons and two widows.
The death of Mwavizo comes barely weeks after the demise of veteran journalist Catherine Kasavuli.
