Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala rural house in Makunga is ready.
Starting the new year in style, Malala on January 1, 2023 took to his Facebook page to thank God for the completion of the house which was handed over to him.
“Gratitude to almighty God, for the gift of a house, the ACK Reverend Bishop Charles Kaskan of Maseno North Diocese, my family and friends for the handing over ceremony of my rural abode in Makunga,” he said.
According to Malala, the conceptualization, design, construction and finishing works of the house were done by an upcoming company.
“The affordable housing agenda in the Kenya Kwanza Administration sits well for upcoming companies to deliver not just houses to Kenyans but jobs too,” he said.
Malala who vied for Kakamega governorship on an ANC ticket lost to ODM's Fernandes Barasa in the last year’s elections.
The legislator has also on some occasions found himself in friction with the law with the recent incident being in September when a contingent of police officers surrounded his house in an effort to arrest him.
The police officers who arrived in six vehicles raided his Milimani-based Kakamega home at 1:30 pm on the fateful day saying the former senator was wanted for assaulting a politician Joseph Oyolo during the Kakamega governor election.
