A Kenyan doctor has been feted with a global award for her outstanding contribution to healthcare initiatives.

Dr. Paulyne Wairimu won the Health 2.0 outstanding Leadership Award from a pool of over 2,000 applicants during the Health 2.0 Conference held on December 19 2022 in Las Vegas, USA.

She is the medical devices and diagnostics lead at the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

The Health 2.0 Conference is a platform that brings together passionate healthcare professionals and spotlights the latest advancements and innovations in the healthcare and wellness across the world.

Its objective is to promote knowledge sharing and networking amongst visionary health leads who seek to find solutions to complex healthcare challenges.

The international event brings leading experts from across the private and public healthcare sectors under one roof.

Wairimu was honored alongside other visionaries and leading organizations who have made a positive impact on healthcare models around the world through their remarkable contributions.

The visionaries awarded played a pivotal role in reducing healthcare costs, improving access and quality of care, while conceptualizing products and services that have enhanced the efficiency of healthcare systems in their respective regions.

In this regard, Wairimu was feted for her national role at the PPB and her contribution to the African Continent as the chair of the African Medical Devices Forum (AMDF), under the governance of the African Medicine Regulatory Harmonization Initiative (AMRH) and within the African Union.

She has also represented Kenya at the World Health Assembly, the highest decision-making body for Health, in Geneva.
