Ruto to lead thanksgiving, Christmas church service in Eldoret

President William Ruto is this Sunday expected to lead a thanksgiving and Christmas Celebrations Church Service in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu.

The service will be his first since he was sworn in as President.

Ruto, who hails from Sugoi in the Uasin Gishu, has in the last three days pitched tents in the home County.

On Saturday, preparations were in top gear ahead of the Sunday Service.

Local leaders led by Senator Jackson Mandagot, Soy David Kiplagat and Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor John Barorot inspected the venue of the event.

It will be a great Christmas since the inception of Uasin Gishu, we have never had a Christmas joined by His excellency the president of Kenya," the Deputy Governor said.

Soy MP on his part stated:

"We want to appeal to all citizens of Uasin Gishu that it is a privilege when the president comes. He is coming here for the first time. We urge everyone to come and celebrate with us here.

The leaders called on the locals to turn up in large numbers to welcome and celebrate with the President.

The president and Mama Rachel on Saturday spent the better part of the day at his Sugoi Rural home interacting with residents and sharing Christmas gifts with them.

It has been the tradition of the first family to spend the Christmas holidays at their rural home where they interact with neighbours and share their gifts.
